Yeah! Today is the first of 12 Mondays where I go to Sweet Elena's Bakery and pick up my produce from the CSA, Serendipity Farms. CSA is Community Supported Agriculture, where you purchase a subscription to receive an eclectic mix of produce grown at a local farm. I found out about Serendipity Farms from Cafe Lumiere's website (it's the cafe in the Osio Movie Theater Plaza...awesome coffee and food). The 12 week subscription is $300 for produce, which works out to $25 a week ($5 more a week if you want fresh wild flowers which I am now regretting I didn't sign up for). This week's bag was filled with hearty greens like red mustard, dandelion greens, chard and kale, as well as root veggies like parsnips, radishes, and potatoes. Everything looks fantastic and it might even convince my hubby to try out celery this week! Thanks Serendipity. I'm not sure if they are still taking subscriptions, but if they are, sign up fast!!
